Angle Brackets
Make sure all your tags are in angle brackets and that there facing the right way.

Close Tags
Check that you've closed all the tags that need to be closed so you don't have some messed up page.

Spelling
If any of your tags don't have the correct spelling they'll do a whole lot of nothing.

Uppercase Tags
Type all your tags in uppercase so they stand out from your normal text, makes it easier to find and edited them.
